NEGRA BERNHARD

Negra Bernhard (b. 1986, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is an Austrian painter living and working in Baden near Vienna. After migrating to Austria with her family in 1992, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Daniel Richter, graduating with distinction in 2022.

Bernhard’s psychologically charged paintings explore themes of memory, identity, alienation, and the interplay between personal and collective experience through dreamlike, often nocturnal imagery and a distinctive colour palette. Her works are held in private collections across Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, and the United States.
